Salman Khan is an Indian actor who appears mostly in Bollywood films. He is originally known as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan. He is very famous in the industry for not just his acting but for various other activities like his charity organization ‘Being Human’ which helps in collecting funds for charity works, through sale of various products, his helping nature, his paintings and also because of controversies regarding the women in his life, the black buck shooting and drunken driving. The 5 foot 5 and a half inches tall actor Salman Khan was born on 27th December, 1965 to parents Salma Khan and Salim Khan. Salman Khan originally hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Salman Khan has 2 brothers and two sisters and is the eldest amongst his siblings. His brothers are Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan and sisters are Arpita and Alvira. Alvira is his biological sister, while Arpita, his pampered youngest sister, was adopted by Salim and Helen. Salman Khan made his Bollywood debut with the film Biwi Ho To Aisi in a supporting role. He appeared as the main lead in his next film Maine Pyar Kiya opposite Bhagyashree which was a blockbuster hit. As per his biography, Maine Pyar Kiya went on to become one of India’s highest grossing films. Salman Khan won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, and a nomination for Filmfare Best Actor Award.

In August 2011, he admitted he suffers from Trigeminal neuralgia, a facial nerve disorder commonly known as the suicide disease. In an interview he said that he has been quietly suffering it for the past seven years, but now the pain’s become unbearable. It has even affected his voice, making it much harsher. He had to go for an operation to treat his nerve disorder in the US in 2011. After recovering from the operation and going against the advice of his doctors to desist from too much physical activity, he continued to shoot for his film Ek Tha Tiger. Reportedly, the pain has not completely disappeared, but our Brave heart, Sallu Bhai keeps soldiering on.
